I am a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).  I provide in-home lactation consultations in Louisville, Boulder, Gunbarrel, Niwot, Lafayette, Broomfield, Superior, and Westminster, CO. Travel to farther locations is possible with an additional travel fee.

Hello, my name is Rebecca Killingsworth, founder of RK Lactation Care LLC.  I am a Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Air Force veteran, and mother of two wonderful daughters.

My desire to become a lactation consultant grew out of the challenges I experienced breastfeeding my children. The expert, caring, and personalized support of several IBCLCs helped me to meet my breastfeeding goals. I was inspired to learn more about human lactation to help other families.

I began my journey in lactation care by providing peer-to-peer support with Mom2Mom, a breastfeeding support group for military families, and later with La Leche League.  As I met more families and heard their stories, my interest in becoming a lactation consultant continued to expand.  I wanted to be able to provide tailored lactation education and support to help families on their infant feeding journeys.  I completed a Certificate in Human Lactation from OHSU-PSU School of Public Health which included lactation-specific education and clinical experience supervised by IBCLC preceptors.  This program qualified and prepared me to take the exam offered by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners to earn the IBCLC credential.

I offer personalized lactation education, support, and a realistic plan to help families nourish their babies in whatever way works best for them.  I listen carefully to my client’s needs and preferences and work with them to create a plan that feels right for them. I am honored to be a part of this special and important season of a family’s life.

When I’m not caring for families or learning more about lactation care, I enjoy reading, fitness activities, and spending time with my family.

RK Lactation Care has partnered with Wildflower Health for parents with Cigna and some Anthem insurance plans. Some Anthem insurance plans include virtual lactation support through the Building Healthy Families program.  You will need to check your coverage and enroll in the Building Healthy Families program if you are not already enrolled. RK Lactation Care is an in-network lactation care provider for Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid Program) and accepts Colorado Medicaid insurance.

RK Lactation Care is an in-network lactation care provider for the Tricare West Region and accepts TriWest Healthcare Alliance insurance.

Payment for services is due when scheduling the appointment for self-pay clients. If something comes up and you need to reschedule your appointment, I would appreciate it if you give me as much notice as possible. Please contact me to reschedule and we can come up with a solution that works for both of us.

If you cancel your visit with less than 24 hours notice and choose not to reschedule the visit, then I will refund your payment minus a $50 cancellation fee.
